Yucatec is the native language of the Maya people of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, counting around 800,000 native speakers as of 2010[1]. There are approximately 20,000 speakers in San Francisco, United States.
On February 13, 2020, Duolingo opened applications for a Yucatec for Spanish course[2].
