Used to teaches the "used to" and "would" forms for Turkish verbs. It is the fifty-first skill (assuming read left to right) in the language tree for Turkish and has one lesson. There are no new words in this skill.
Grammar Notes[]
Surprise, surprise, there is a special verb ending for saying "would"or "used to" in Turkish. This ending is comes in a few parts:
- Root+Aorist Suffix+Past Tense+Past Tense Personal Ending
- oku + -r + du + k = okurduk (We used to/would read).
Remember that the past personal endings are different from the present tense ones.
For negatives, use the negative aorist learned in the previous skill instead of the positive aorist.
For mI- questions, separate the aorist from its endings and add those endings to the question word instead.
