Negation 2 is the forty-first (assuming read left to right) skill in the language tree for Turkish. It teaches how to use the negative marker in sentences using the newly-learned past and future tenses. It has no new words in either of the two lessons.
Grammar Notes[]
The negative particle in the present (-mA or -mI) still works in the other tenses that we have learned so far (continuous, past, future). The marker is always placed just before this tense information:
- Beklemeyeceğim. ("I will not wait.")
- Kahverengi değildin. ("You were not brown.") (Note that değil is still treated like an adjective in the past)
- Okula gitmedik. ("We did not go to school.")
