As of May 2015, the Duolingo team consisted of more than 40 individuals[1] including several software engineers, scientists, and language experts.[2]In 2019, Duolingo announce to set a goal to recruit a more diverse team, which is 50% female representation and 50% people of color representation. [3]

On November 2013, the team was divided according to the following breakdown: "12 people working on improving the learning experience, 3 on improving the apps, 2 on the Incubator (new languages), and one whose job it is to improve the real-world translations."[4]

Administrators (Admins) are Duolingo staff members. Like moderators, they have a ring around their profile picture, however it is a blue ring with a star in the bottom right.
