Grammar notes[]

Important notes[]

~ Use accusative case for directions (to a place) and use prepositional case for positions

~ Verbs of placing always indicates directions, not position. For example: "поставь вазу на стол" ✓ "поставь вазу на столе" X

~ However, if such object is already in place, use prepositional case. "ваза на столе" ✓ "ваза на стол" Х

~ Similarly, the action of sitting down or getting on a vehicle also uses direction. On the other hand, use prepositional case whenever you are already sitting or on the vehicle. "я села на стуле" ✓ "я сажусь на автобус" ✓ "садитесь на стул" ✓ "я еду на машине" ✓
