Past & Infinitive is the thirtieth (assuming read left to right) skill of the Russian language tree. The skill has six lessons, and each lesson teaches you how to use the past tense in Russian.
Grammar Notes[]
The usage of the past tense is simple: the ending following the -л depends on the gender of the subject:
Verb (Present) | Masculine | Feminine | Neuter | Plural |
---|---|---|---|---|
читать | читал | читала | читало | читали |
The verb идти (and any other verbs with the same ending) has an irregular stem, though, so watch out:
- идти, шёл, шла, шло, шли
