Navajo or Navaho is a Southern Athabaskan language of the Na-Dené family of languages in North America. Navajo is spoken primarily in the southwest United States, especially on the Navajo Nation. It is one of the most widely known indigenous language in North America with almost 170,000 Americans speaking Navajo at home as of 2011.[1]

Navajo was released as a learnable language on Duolingo on Indigenous Peoples' Day (October 8) in 2018.[2]

Navajo has the least units, with a total of 2 sections and 7 units. The language also doesn't use AI Voicing similar to other courses. Instead, it uses voice recordings from contributors.
