Kazakh , Kazak or Qazaq [1] is a Turkic language is spoken by 15 million native speakers, primarily located in Kazakhstan, Altai Republic (Russia) and Ili Prefecture (China) where it's an official language. Kazakh is also spoken by many ethnic Kazakhs through the former Soviet Union (approximately 472,000 in Russia according to the 2010 Russian Census[2]), Afghanistan, China (Ili Prefecture, Aksai County, Barkol County and Mori County), Iran, Turkey and Germany.
More recently [3] in 2017, President Nazarbayev passed the presidential decree 539 to convert the alphabet Kazakh is written in from Cyrillic, to Latin, which would mark almost 95 years since it was first changed in the last two centuries. It was initially expected to be done by 2025, but now as of 2021, is to be gradually completed by 2031.
Currently, Duolingo [4] has no Kazakh course or any plan of adding one any time soon, despite to moderate demand which was seen in the Duolingo Forums, which have since shut down.
