Greetings is the 7th skill (assuming read left to right) in the language tree for Japanese. It has 3 lessons and teaches some basic greetings.

LessonsEdit

Lesson 1 Edit

  • どうも (dōmo) = thanks
  • ありがとう (arigatō) = thank you (used with friends) [1]
  • ございます (gozaimasu) = very much
  • ありがとうございます (arigatō-gozaimasu') = thank you (formal)[2]
  • どうもありがとう (dōmo-arigatō)' = thank you very much
  • おはよう (ohayō) = good morning
  • ごめんなさい (gomen'nasai) = I'm sorry
  • こんにちは (kon'nichiwa) = hello, good day/afternoon

Lesson 2 Edit

  • どうぞ (dōzo) = here you are/here you go[3]
  • よろしく (yoroshiku) = nice to meet you, treat me kindly
  • おねがいします (onegai shimasu) = please - I wish/I beg of you[4]
  • すみません (sumimasen) = excuse/pardon me, I'm sorry
  • どうぞよろしくおねがいします (dōzo yoroshiku onegai shimasu) = please take care of me
  • どういたしまして (dōitashimashite) = you're welcome/my pleasure

Lesson 3 Edit

  • さようなら (sayounara) = goodbye/farewell
  • では (dewa) = well then
  • じゃ (ja) = well then
  • おやすみなさい (oyasuminasai) = good night
  • こんばんは (konbanwa) = good evening
  • こちらこそ (kochira koso) = to you as well/likewise
  • またね (mata ne) = see you later/bye
