Lesson 1[]

  • 語 (go) = language
  • ドイツ語 (doi-tsu-go) = german language
  • 受けます (u-ke-ma-su) = I receive
  • 教師 (kyō-shi) = teacher
  • 生徒 (sei-to) = students
  • 法律 (hō-ri-tsu) = law
  • ぺらぺら (pe-ra-pe-ra) = fluent
  • 教育 (kyō-i-ku) = education
  • 専攻 (sen-kō) = major
  • 予習 (yo-shū) = preparing for

Lesson 2[]

  • 欠席 (ke-sse-ki) = absent
  • 校長 (kō-chō) = principal / head of teachers
  • リュック (ryu-kku) = backpack
  • リュックサック (ryu-kku-sa-kku) = backpack / ruck sack
  • 背負って (sho-tte) = carrying (usually on the back)
  • 通って (ka-yo-tte) = going / going through
  • バスで通う (ba-su-de-ka-yō) = I commute by bus

Lesson 3[]

  • そうです (sō-de-su) = that is right
  • なるほど (na-ru-ho-do) = I see / indeed
  • 間違えた (ma-chi-gae-ta) = I got wrong
  • 問題 (mon-dai) = problem / question
  • メモ (me-mo) = memo or can be used as 'jotted down' where taking notes/information is taking place
  • ああ (ā) = ah!
  • 正しい (ta-da-shī) = correct
  • 正しくない (ta-da-shi-ku-nai) = incorrect
  • 正しくないかもしれません (ta-da-shi-ku-nai-ka-mo-shi-re-ma-sen) = that may not be correct [Notice the Double Negative!]

Lesson 4[]

  • 分野 (bun-ya) = field of expertise
  • に対する 反応 (⒳-ni-tai-su-ru-han-nō) = the reaction towards ⒳ [に対する is not used as a verb; it means towards]
  • ⒳ に対して 反応 (⒳-ni-tai-shi-te-han-nō) = the reaction towards ⒳
  • 関心 (kan-shin) = concern / attention
  • 関心事 (kan-shin-ji) = concern matter (or, matter of concern)
  • 科目 (ka-mo-ku) = subject
  • 数学 (su-ga-ku) = math
  • 環境 (kan-kyō) = environment
  • 専門 (sen-mon) = expertise
  • 専門家 (sen-mon-ka) = expert
  • 研究している (ken-kyū-shi-te) = is researching

Lesson 5[]

  • 物理的に (bu-tsu-ri-te-ki-ni) = physically
  • 理解する (ri-kai-su-ru) = to understand
  • 理解 (ri-kai) = understanding
  • 学位 (ga-kui) = degree
  • 不可能 (fu-ka-nō) = impossible
  • 文 (bun) = sentence
  • 文法 (bun-pō) = grammar
  • 教授 (kyō-ju) = professor

  • 典型的な (ten-kē-te-ki-na) = typical
  • 具体的 (gu-tai-te-ki) = concrete
  • 易しい (ya-sa-shī) = easy (for educations), kind (for creatures)

  • 少なくとも (tsu-ku-na-ko-to-mo) = at least
