Counting is the sixteenth skill in the Japanese language course. It has three lessons that teach a couple of common counters in Japanese.

Lesson 1[]
- つ (tsu) = counter for most objects
- 一つ (hi-to-tsu) = one (thing) (ひとつ)
- 二つ (fu-ta-tsu) = two (things) (ふたつ)
- 三つ (mi-ttsu) = three (things) (みっつ)
- 四つ (yo-ttsu) = four (things) (よっつ)
- いくつ (i-ku-tsu) = how many (things)
- おいくつですか (o-iku-tsu-de-su-ka) = How old are you?
Lesson 2[]
- 五つ (itsu-tsu) = five (things) (いつつ)
- 六つ (mu-ttsu) = six (things) (むっつ)
- 七つ (na-na-tsu) = seven (things) (ななつ)
- 八つ (ya-ttsu) = eight (things) (やっつ)
- 九つ (ko-ko-no-tsu) = nine (things) (ここのつ)
Lesson 3[]
- 卵 (ta-ma-go) = egg/eggs (たまご)
- りんご (rin-go) = apple/apples
- 個 (ko) = counter for small, round objects
- 一個 (i-kko) = one (small, round thing) (いっこ)
- 二個 (ni-ko) = two (small, round things) (にこ)
- 三個 (san-ko) = three (small, round things) (さんこ)
- 四個 (yon-ko) = four (small, round things) (よんこ)
- 五個 (go-ko) = five (small, round things) (ごこ)
- 七個 (na-na-ko) = seven (small, round things) (ななこ)
