Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic) is a Celtic language that is commonly spoken in the Gaeltacht (literally the "Irish-speaking region") of Ireland. It's written in Latin script and has VSO word order. Though the language is taught in schools throughout Ireland, only about 77,185 Irish citizens speak it on a daily basis as of 2011[citation needed].
