Intermediate English is a language course for intermediate-level English learners. It is taught entirely in English, and thus lacks translation exercises, but is otherwise similar to Duolingo's other language courses in terms of format. The course can be used to revisit English skills/vocabulary or to learn skills/vocabulary in English. This course can get people to a CEFR B2 level, which is the maximum fluency in a Duolingo course. The course released on May 1st of 2024. The course has 197 skills, spread over 175 units in 4 sections (not including Daily Refresh), meaning that there are 5 sections in total, including Daily Refresh.
As of November 10, 2025, the total amount of units has been increased to 875, whilst keeping the number of sections intact.
