Dative is the 17th skill in the High Valyrian language course. It has 3 lesson.
Grammar Notes[]
Dative[]
- The singular dative case is usually formed by adding -t to the singular genitive form.
- vala = man
- valo = man's
- valot = to the man
- If the possessive is in the form of -ō, shorten the -ō and add -t.
- āeksio = master
- āeksiō = master's
- āeksiot = to the master
Va and Hen[]
- The interpretation of the preposition va depends on the context
- Blēnot jā = You go to mountain.
- Va blēnot jā = You go to into the mountain.
- Not Using hen for someone leaving city. But use hen for someone leaving the room. (ex. house and room)
- Vumbiarzot jān = I go to room.
- Hen vumbiarzot jān = I go out of the room.

- hen = from (normal), out from the inside of/on account of/because of/for (dat.)
- aerēbagon = to travel
- jagon = to go
- oktion = city
- umāzigon = to come to/to arrive at
