Verbal Nouns is the seventy-second skill in the Hebrew language tree on Duolingo. It has four lessons and teaches the noun forms of many verbs, so you can say sentences like "Learning is fun!"
Grammar Notes[]
The verbal noun forms of a given verb will mostly reflect the binyan that they belong to:
- Pa'al verbs: XXiXa (such as חשיבה (khashiva) for "thinking") - these nouns are feminine
- Pi'el verbs: XiXuX (such as לימוד (limud) for "learning") - these nouns are masculine
- Hif'il verbs: haXXaXa (such as הזמנה (hazmana) for "invitation") - these nouns are feminine
- Hitpa'el verbs: hitXaXXut (such as התנצלות (hitnatslut) for "apology") - these nouns are feminine
