Imperative 2 is the fifty-seventh skill (assuming read left to right) in the Hebrew language tree. It has three lessons that teach how to form the imperative of the final active binyan, ni'fal, as well as how to say "let's" in Hebrew.
Grammar Notes[]
Let's do it![]
The imperative of the verb "to come" is used to make this expression in Hebrew; it is conjugated depending on who is addressed. It is followed by the first person plural future tense for the main action:
- !בוא נאכל = Let's eat! (to a man) (literally: Come, we will eat)
- !בואי נדבר בעברית = Let's speak in Hebrew! (to a woman)
- !בוא נלך לפארק = Let's go to the park! (to a group)
Nif'al imperatives[]
Nif'al verbs that are active can have an imperative form like other active verbs. As an example, here is the table for להיכנס:
Masculine | Feminine | Plural |
---|---|---|
היכנס (hikanes) | היכנסי (hikansi) | היכנסו (hikansu) |
