Hawaiian is a language of the Malayo-Polynesian family that is the native language of Hawai'i. It is one of the official languages of the state of Hawaii in the United States, and it is a critically endangered language according to the United Nations [1]. There are only 2000 native speakers of Hawaiian, but Hawaiian-language schools have been formed to revive the language.

On Duolingo, Hawaiian was made available on Indigenous Peoples' Day (October 8th) in 2018.
