All adjectives in Esperanto end in -a. The adjective can be placed before or after the noun with no change in meaning.

- ĉu = is [yes/no question word], do [yes/no question], have you
- vetero = weather
- varma = warm/hot

- hodiaŭ = today
- malvarma = cold
- malbona = bad
- suno = sun
- brilas = am/is/are shining
- tago = day/a day

- aŭ = or
- tre = very/very much/really
- mateno = morning
- domo = house/a house
- ĉambro = room/a room
