Materials is the seventy-eighth skill (assuming read left to right) in the Dutch language tree. It has three lessons and teaches various materials that are used to make things, such as gold, silver, and cardboard.
Grammar Notes[]
In English, you can say something is "made of gold" or "golden", and Dutch has almost the exact same thing:
- van goud = golden, made of gold
- gouden = golden
However, the first one can only be a predicate (in other words, it cannot come before a noun) and the second one can only come in front of a noun. Also with the second one, it never gets an extra -e because of the gender of the noun following it.
