The first episode details several characters (Falstaff, Oscar, Junior, Lily, Eddy and Zari) finding themselves in a strange world with flames appearing above their heads. Duo then descends on a golden disc, knocking Oscar to the ground and forcing his spirit out of his body. Duo then explains that the characters are in a beta test for the ultimate immersive language learning experience, and that they were chosen because of their streak-keeping abilities. Duo then says that they are going to face challenges and whatever they do, ¨do not let the flame go out¨. The episode then ends and cuts to an outro, featuring Duo playing a DDR[2] style game with several of the characters portrayed on-screen. The clip ends with Duo turning off the console and leaving the characters trapped in the simulation.
Episode 2: Do Not Let Your Flame Go Out![]
The episode follows the characters finding themselves in a strange field with a metal door at the back of the room. A disc resembling the button for practice lessons appears in front of them, along with a cancel button. Junior goes to press the cancel button so they can escape, but Duo appears, blocks the button and turns into an anime princess, singing about the importance of determination, reminding the characters not to let they're flame go out. Eddy is then bumped into the wall, revealing the sky was a projection, which distracts Duo. Oscar, infuriated by Duo's horrible singing, presses the cancel button, which causes Duo to return to his normal form and telekinetic shoves Oscar into the sun, revealing Duo's powers and the consequences of letting your flame go out. The rest of the characters then find themselves in an elevator surrounded by other elevators, going straight up. The episode then ends with the outro.
Episode 3: FIND ME... or else![]
The episode begins with the characters getting off the elevator from the previous episode, and arriving in an office. They're presented with a computer screen, which says the simplified chinese word for stapler. Lily then proceeds to pick up a stapler from the desk, causing the screen to flash green. The computer then repeats the process, with the italian for book, the german for pen, and the spanish for bathing suit. Lastly, the computer says the french for a corner, but Eddie mistakes this as referring to a coin, and fails the challenge, resulting in him popping out of existence. Junior, devastated by his father disappearing, runs over to the spot where he was last seen and cries. Duo appears and criticizes Eddy's lack of attention to detail. then he spots the bathing suit and puts it on, while Junior continues to mourn his dead father. Duo then teleports the remaining characters to a dungeon, and disappears. The episode then cuts to the outro.
Episode 4: NO ONE IS SAFE. EVER.[]
The characters find themselves in the dungeon from the last episode, on the other side of a pit of lava with pillars sticking up from the ground. Junior, still depressed over his absent father, continues to weep. Zari goes to comfort him, but he waves her off, saying that his dad is fine and he's the most powerful person in the world. The floor beneath Junior then collapses, leaving him on a pillar with the word sad in Japanese etched into it. Zari then tells Junior to jump to the pillar to his left, as it has the Spanish word for sad inscribed on it. Junior does, causing the pillar he landed on to glow white. The group starts traversing the lava pillars, each following their own path. Lily then jumps onto a slippery pillar, causing her to start toppling into the lava. Zari, at the last possible second, grabs Lily's sweater. Unfortunately, this causes Zari to step on two pillars at once, causing the pillars to collapse, pitching Zari into the lava. Lily reaches out her hand, but it phases through Zari's and she dies into the lava. The episode then cuts to the outro.
Episode 5: This is the end.[]
The remaining characters, Lily, Junior, and Falstaff emerge from a portal and end up in a music, chess, and math themed arena. There, Duo, all emotional after Zari's death, is waiting for them. He mentions how sweet and beautiful Lily and Zari's friendship was, infuriating Lily. She finally snaps and runs up behind Duo, ready to throw hands. But before she can land a hit, Falstaff grabs her at the last second and restrains her tightly. Lily, still furious, asks Falstaff why he's helping Duo. Falstaff then drops the bomb. He reveals that he's actually been working for Duo the whole time. Duo then says that Oscar, Eddy, and Zari aren't dead. He then reveals three giant freeze streak ice statues with Oscar, Eddy, and Zari's frozen but alive bodies inside. Lily is shocked to see Zari and Junior tears up at the sight of Eddy. Then Lily demands to Duo to tell her and Junior how to free them. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Duo flying above the arena and removing the walls by snapping his fingers. The episode then cuts to the outro.
