The multiple-choice translations often have dead giveaways (ridiculously obvious clues) that allow you to discard the wrong answers without knowing much of the language.

- Beginning a sentence with lower case.
- A one- or two-letter word as a translation of a word with many letters.
Italian[]
- Use of egli instead of lui.
- Use of ella instead of lei.
- Use of essi instead of loro.
- Use of d' before a consonant (e.g. d'calendario).
Spanish[]
- Use of Ud. instead of usted or tú.
- Use of vos instead of tú.
- Use of vosotros instead of ustedes (except at the end of the course).
