Objectives of this lesson cover (1) asking how to get to a location, (2) asking if one knows a way to a location, (3) asking about location using 里 (lǐ), (4) describing a relative location, (5) and telling one to walk in a direction.
(1) To ask for a way to a place use 到+place+怎么走.[]
How to get to the restaurant? 到饭馆怎么走?
(2) To ask if one knows the way to a place use 认识到+place+ 的路吗.[]
Do you know the way? 你认识路吗？
Do you know the way to New York? 你认识到纽约的路吗？
(3) 哪里， 那里， 这里 are interchangeable with words learned in previous lessons: 哪儿， 那儿， 这儿.[]
Where am I? 我在哪里？
I am there. 我在那里。
I am here. 我在这里。
(4) To tell about relative location of two objects use object+在+object+的+location.[]
I am in front of you. 我在你的前面。
The dog is behind her. 狗在他的后面。
(5) To tell one to follow a direction use 往+direction+走.[]
Walk to the left side. 往左边走。
Walk to the right side. 往右边走。
